Owner Comments:

This is a lustrous and evenly toned coin that I find quite attractive. I had difficulty finding an 1859 that I liked as most I have seen are dull and unattractively toned.
This is a minor one year type as only the Philadelpha issue of this date have the hollowed out stars. A few transitional pieces were also struck with the hollow stars in 1859 and 1860 which do not bear the legend United States of America.
