1886-S/S VAM-2 PCGS MS65 PLSuper clean, top quality coin. The only one of this variety that rivals it is in an ANACS MS65 DMPL holder. I have seen that coin and its mirrors are not deep enough to qualify as a PCGS DMPL. The two of them are top of the heap for this VAM Top-100 variety in any event.The variety's rarity is misleading in at least the original Fey/Oxman guide. My observation is that this is not the rarity (R-8?) in high mint state or prooflike relative to other varieties. But it is nonetheless desirable and the date is very hard to get in gem two-sided prooflike in general.
