In 1960, the Denver Mint produced about 200 million Roosevelt dimes, making among the top ten most minted date. And millions of high grade examples survive due to the high mintage.
This dime has several small spots of tone on both sides and has lost a good deal of its original luster. Overall, the eye-appeal for this dime is low. However, it has a great strike and fine details.
Torch lines are clear and well-defined and may be a full torch strike. With the graying of the coin, the lower band line has become difficult to see, even through the strongest of magnification. However, it does appear that the lower band line is fully struck, albeit not so well-defined.
Perhaps this coin is a good candidate for conservation and designation review. However, there are a few contact marks on the torch, which may interrupt the continuity of at least one of the vertical lines. So it's a close call on a designation review.
Other significant contact marks include one on Roosevelt's cheek and one in his hair, however all are grade appropriate. All things considered, this really needs to be conserved to bring out it's beauty and details.
