Owner Comments:
The Philadelphia Mint produced 108 million Roosevelt dimes dated 1956 and millions survive in mint condition, however coins with full torch strikes are a bit less common. PCGS estimates that only 44,000 1956-P Roosevelts with full torch strikes survive in MS 65 condition or better.
In total, there are only 225 Philadelphia Roosevelts dated 1956 with FT or FB designations that have been certified by NGC and PCGS. At MS 66 FT, NGC has 81 in their registry, while PCGS has a population of 144.
The 1957-P in this collection is very bright white and 100% spot-free on both sides with great eye-appeal. It has a great strike and details, however there are some light hairlines on both sides. Torch lines are very clear, well-defined, and uninterrupted.
Contact marks are present, but consistent with the grade. All things considered this coin grades on the higher end of MS 66. This is a really nice dime for the collection.
