WB-108. DOUBLED DATE. (1 HEAD DIE)
The date on this head die has been recut east; portions of the entire date are visible slightly to the left of the prominent date (much like a shadow). There is only one marriage for this variety with the head die paired to a tail die marked with a medium size mintmark, In late die states, the head die has no drapery, weak foot support, and the recutting on 18 disappear as a result of die polishing (see the drapery die states section in Chapter 2).
