Purchased 9/1/2012.
This is a very nice example of the Braided Hair Large Cent type. While the 1852 coin is by no means rare, with a mintage of more than 5 million pieces, choice well struck pieces properly graded are worthy of a wait. The coin has beautiful luster on both the obverse and reverse, peaking through smooth chocolatey brown surfaces. The reverse has a non-distracting planchet flaw below the letters "CEN" and arching above the letters "CE" of cent. All in all, this is a very nice example of a late-date Large Cent, and a properly graded example well worth of the MS65 grade.
I purchased this coin from BillJones here on the NGC boards. He is an advanced collector with a wealth of knowledge who I have learned much from in my years here on the boards. I'm happy to have a coin in my type set which formerly resided in his 100% complete US Type set!
