With a net original mintage of only 6,000 pieces, the 1949S is scarce in MS67 grade; which is also the PCGS condition consensus grade for the issue. This coin is provenanced to the Guttag Family of recently released coins. It is very fresh and has great eye appeal with super clean and smooth surfaces that possess a booming luster. The surfaces are mostly brilliant with a light color mix of lilac & gold on the peripheries. All of the details are sharply struck. This coin is featured as a plate coin on the PCGS Coinfacts photo section.
