PCGS graded MS 62 BN, EAC AU58
Variety: N-5, LDS, CC#10
The central obverse design is nearly fully struck, but most of the stars lack definition. Luster is good on the obverse and very nice on the reverse. The reverse color is also superior to the obverse. There is only one contact mark of note, to the right of the mouth. The variety has numerous tiny obverse lumps due to rusting of the die.
I bought this raw from Tom Reynolds (who was selling it for a client of his) at a Baltimore show in March 2008. At the time, I had 8 "free" PCGS gradings coming to me, and this was one of the coins I submitted. I was hoping for MS64, expecting 63, and just can't understand the 62 it received. Nevertheless, it's a great coin for the money and I'm happy with it regardless of grade.
