Owner Comments:

NGC graded MS 67 BN
Variety: N-17, die state b

This piece is simply a joy to behold. The luster and uniform brown color are great. All design elements are fully detailed. The only blemish is a tiny contact mark on the nose.

I obtained this cent from a May 2005 Heritage auction, making it the first MS67 large cent added to my collection.

From the Heritage catalog:
1852 1C MS67 Brown NGC. N-17, R.1.
A small die lump near the crossbar of the E in ONE aids attribution. The chestnut-brown surfaces retain hints of red color on the reverse. A boldly struck and impressively preserved Superb Gem that is distinguished by a tiny mint-made lintmark below the N in CENT. The highest certified of nine 1852 Cents certified by NGC as Newcomb-17.(#1898)
